• What is Silk'n LumiGlow?

  LumiGlow is an LED patch that can be placed anywhere on your face, except directly over the eyes, using the adhesive strips included with the product. It features a hands-free design and does not require a cable during use. LumiGlow offers 4 different wavelengths combined into 3 different modes, each targeting specific skin concerns.

• How does LED light work?

  LED light (red, amber, and blue) is absorbed by the epidermis and dermis, the two upper layers of the skin. This process stimulates cellular activity, helping to renew skin cells and repair ageing tissue. It helps reduce fine lines, stimulates collagen production, improves blood circulation, and targets blemishes and imperfections for a clearer-looking complexion while evening out skin tone. After each session, the skin appears more radiant and refreshed.
  
  (Deep) Near-Infrared technology is an invisible light that penetrates deeper layers of the skin and supports the production of collagen and elastin for improved firmness, more volume, and a smoother appearance.

• What are the benefits of each mode?

  • Mode 1 – Blue (415nm), Red (633nm) | Irradiance: 9.3 mW/cm²
  Helps improve the appearance of blemishes and imperfections while promoting a clearer-looking complexion.
  
  • Mode 2 – Red (633nm), Near-Infrared (830nm) | Irradiance: 8.5 mW/cm²
  Stimulates collagen and elastin production for firmer-looking skin by targeting areas more prone to ageing and early fine lines.
  
  • Mode 3 – Amber (605nm), Red (633nm), Near-Infrared (830nm) | Irradiance: 8.7 mW/cm²
  Helps reduce the appearance of pigmentation and redness while promoting a healthy glow and a calmer-looking complexion.

• Which wavelengths are used in each mode?

  • Mode 1: Blue 415nm and Red 633nm
  • Mode 2: Red 633nm and Near-Infrared 830nm
  • Mode 3: Amber 605nm, Red 633nm, and Near-Infrared 830nm

• What is the irradiance?

  • Mode 1: 9.3 mW/cm²
  • Mode 2: 8.5 mW/cm²
  • Mode 3: 8.7 mW/cm²
  
  The irradiance is lower compared to some of our other products because LumiGlow is a smaller device.

• Can I purchase the adhesive strips again?

  Yes, the adhesive strips are available on our website in packs of 30.

• Is it suitable for everyone?

  It is suitable for both women and men, for all skin types and all skin colours. However, this device is not designed for everyone's condition. Please read the contraindications in the user manual before you start your sessions.

• Is it safe?

  After extensive testing, Silk’n LED Face Mask Pro has been found to be safe to use in a typical home environment by both men and women. Always read the manual carefully before using Silk’n LED Face Mask Pro.

• Does a session hurt?

  No, it does not hurt. You will only feel a mild sensation of warmth during your session when using the LED function. You may also experience slight redness of the skin during and just after the treatment, but this will quickly fade.
  If you experience any discomfort, stop using the device and contact your physician. We recommend reading the user manual before starting your session.

• Should I apply a serum or cream before the session?

  Some skincare products contain ingredients that can be photosensitive or reactive when exposed to LED light. Therefore, we advise performing the session on clean, dry skin, free from any makeup, dirt, serum or cream. Apply a serum or cream after your session to hydrate the skin. However, if you choose to use one beforehand, ensure it is compatible with LED light and fully absorbed before starting your session.

• Can I use Silk'n LED skincare products with this device?

  Yes, absolutely! Our LED serums are specially developed to complement our LED product range and can easily be incorporated into your daily skincare routine. They can be used with all Silk'n LED masks. Each serum offers its own unique benefits. For more information, please visit the product pages on our website.

• How long does a session take?

  One session takes 5 minutes in which one preferred mode will be active. The mask automatically switches off after 5 minutes.

• How often should I use it?

  This product is suitable for daily use. However, do not use the device for more than 5 minutes per session and no more than once per day.
  
  Mode 1, which includes Blue LED light, should only be used a maximum of 3 times per week, with sessions lasting no longer than 5 minutes each.

• Can I sunbathe?

  Yes. Because Silk’n LumiGlow is not a laser, you can sunbathe immediately before or after the session. You don’t necessarily need to use a SPF cream after the session, although this is always recommended due to the general ageing effect of UV light on the skin.

• Is there any recovery time?

  Silk’n LumiGlow works differently from laser, so there is no recovery period. The risk of skin damage is greatly reduced. You can immediately carry on with your daily activities.

• At what age can it be used?

  This device is suitable from the age of 18 and up.

• Can I use this device when I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

  No, you may not use this device when your are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Should I close my eyes during the session?

  No, that is not necessary.

• Can I use this device if I have dermal fillers, Botox or have undergone professional (surgical) procedures like a facelift, micro needling and ablative RF/laser?

  This product was not tested on anyone who had had dermal fillers, Botox or professional (surgical) procedures. We cannot therefore advise using this product in such cases. If one of these conditions applies to you, we advise you to check with your physician before using the LumiGlow.
  
  In case you underwent micro needling or ablative RF/laser, we advise to wait till your skin has completely healed before you use the mask. In case you have any concerns, consult your doctor first before you use the LumiGlow.

• How do I clean my mask?

  Remove the controller from the magnetic holder. Use a damp cloth or a water-based wipe to wipe off the mask. Then wipe it dry with a dry cloth. Attach the controller back onto the magnetic holder after cleaning.
  
  Please pay attention to the following:
  • Always unplug the product from the power source before cleaning.
  • Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal bristles, or sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives, hard scrapers, and the like.
  • Do not use hot water for cleaning.
